Add Review/Comment“Big city music people called [Hank Williams] a hillbilly, when they called him anything. But they, like everyone else, would be singing his songs in the end,” says Shelton “Hank Three” Williams in the documentary Honky Tonk Blues.
Created as part of PBS’s award-winning “American Masters” series, the film tells the story of Williams’s short life, through the eyes of family, friends, admirers, and historians. Included are interviews with Little Jimmy Dickens, George Jones, Merle Kilgore, Ray Price, and many others. Footage also includes conversations with members of the Williams family and members of Hank’s band, The Drifting Cowboys. Written by Colin Escott and Morgan Neville.
Approximately 90 minutes.
