Natasha Borzilova and Jon Raven Presents An Acoustic Evening
June 14, 2008
Natasha Borzilova, former lead singer and acoustic guitarist of Grammy nominated Russian band Bering Strait takes the stage at Cafe Coco to sing songs from her first solo release, "Cheap Escape" on the Hadley Music Group label. The CD is an eleven song self-penned project either written or co-written by Borzilova. Borzilova's music takes on a personal tone with thought provoking metaphors and truly unique melodies influenced by years of classical and jazz training as a guitarist and vocalist. With a natural gravitation toward nuance in her lyrics, one would be hard pressed to believe that English is not her first language. A seasoned entertainer, she is exciting with a full band behind her yet completely captivating and intriguing with just her voice and guitar; a feat few singers can pull off. Sharing the stage with Borzilova will be Canadian singer songwriter Jon Raven whose energy and commanding vocal ability shine through his infectious Rock Americana sound. He was awarded Western Beat's 2003 Best Male Artist of the Year.

I have seen this band in concert once before, and absolutely LOVED it! The members work effortlessly together to produce not only a great sound, but a great performance you will never forget.

The opening was just great. The art is innovative and inspired. It's amazing that he is only 8 years old!
