In A Fatal Waltz, the intricate codes of conduct in Victorian England's societal scene make Lady Emily Ashton's subtle skills of investigation vital to saving her best friend Ivy's husband. At Ivy's behest, Lady Emily Ashton reluctantly agrees to attend a house party at the country estate of Lord Basil Fortescue, a man she finds as personally odious as he is politically powerful.
